Eine Kooperationsveranstaltung der Graduiertenakademie der TUHH, der Stabsstelle Gleichstellung an der TUHH und Pro Exzellenzia plus (Hamburgs Karriere Kompetenzzentrum für Frauen)
Zielgruppe:
Hochschulabsolvent∗innen, Promovierende, Postdocs, Wissenschaftler∗innen und Verwaltungspersonal
Zielsetzung:
Führungspositionen in Teilzeit?
Veranstaltungsort: TU Hamburg, Am Schwarzenberg-Campus 2 (B), Raum B 0.001

Goals:
What are my unique abilities and interests in determining the right career path for me?
Can I combine my ideas about a fulfilled life with a career outside of science?
How can I develop a strategy for embarking on a non-academic career path?
This seminar helps to answer these – and other - questions for those who feel the urge to leave academia and who want to plan their career development strategically. It focuses on supporting experienced scientists and researchers. It offers them possibilities to reflect upon future career choices beyond academia. Based on their individual profiles, participants develop their own vision for their future personal and professional lives.
Content Outline:
• Creating your profile of skills and qualifications, highlighting your strengths and accomplishments
• Choosing your own criteria and values for work and life
• Developing a vision for your own professional and private life
• Review and evaluation of personal development goals
• Detect your professional network
• Next steps: application procedures and job interview in Germany

Zielgruppe:

Goals:
Participants acquire the creative skills to develop, design and create visualisations that are suitable for different target groups, purposes, and objectives.
Content Outline:
Given the fact that people generally understand and retain visual information better than any text-based information, scientists should be able to communicate complex scientific concepts through engaging and vivid visualisations, especially when they need to communicate their topic to a wide range of diverse audience.
The workshop explains and trains the process of visualisation by combining basic design elements and applying the core principles of design. We will focus on different forms of visualisation such as infographics, diagrams, graphical summaries etc. to present concepts, ideas, procedures, and results in an understandable way and serve as visually appealing eye-catchers on posters, slides, in publications or as posts in scientific blogs.
