Writing and Publishing Research Articles: the Structured Approach

Goals:
The goals of this two-day workshop are to facilitate and accelerate writing and publishing processes. We structure processes in steps and practice techniques that increase both writing efficiency and text quality. We start with planning the project and move on with outlining, drafting, revising and publishing.

Content Outline:
• What to write: focus and message
• Where to publish: journal selection
• How to team up: collaboration with co-authors
• How to organise information: sections, paragraphs, sentences
• How to write drafts: getting started, keeping momentum
• How to revise: clarity, conciseness
• How to achieve acceptance: coping with rejection, persuading editors
• How to be productive: motivation and self-management
